AIADMK General Secretary and Leader of Opposition Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS) launched a sharp attack on the ruling DMK government, stating that law and order in Tamil Nadu has completely collapsed, with even police stations no longer safe from criminal activities.
His remarks come in the wake of a shocking incident in Chatrapatti near Madurai, where armed men reportedly stormed a police station, attacked officers, and freed an arrested suspect. Condemning the incident, EPS said such events were unthinkable during AIADMK rule and pointed out that criminals now act with impunity under the DMK regime.
In a sarcastic remark aimed at the ruling party, EPS said, “This incident should be added to the DMK’s list of achievements.” He alleged that the DMK has failed to ensure basic law and order, emboldening criminal elements across the state.
EPS further warned that the public is losing confidence in the police force, and if this trend continues, democracy and public safety will be severely threatened. He called on the state government to act immediately and restore faith in the law enforcement system.
