Chennai, July 4:
Leader of Opposition Edappadi K. Palaniswami expressed deep concern over the recent kidnap and murder of a 13-year-old boy in Krishnagiri and the suspicious death of a Class XII student near a school in Erode. Calling the incidents shocking, he said they reflect a serious law and order failure under the DMK government.
Palaniswami stated that the abduction and murder showed criminals have become fearless and are committing heinous crimes without fear of consequences. He blamed the ruling regime for allowing such elements to thrive.
Referring to media reports about the Class XII student’s death, EPS said it was the result of clashes among students, raising concerns over the increasing violence in schools. He alleged that the state government’s poor governance and lack of discipline in the education system were to blame, calling the DMK’s approach to governance ā€œflawed.ā€
He also criticised Chief Minister M.K. Stalin for failing to ensure Cauvery water reaches tail-end regions. EPS said the lack of proper desilting was the reason for water not reaching farmers in need and demanded immediate action to address the crisis.
