BJP leader Tamilisai Soundararajan has said there is confusion within the DMK-led alliance in Tamil Nadu. She claimed that alliance partners are making statements that go against each other.Tamilisai said the DMK is demanding a caste-based census, but at the same time, they are hiding behind the Central Government’s decisions. She also criticized the DMK government for not handling a sexual abuse case in Thiruvallur properly. According to her, even with CCTV footage, it took a week for the police to name suspects.
She said the DMK is now going to the people only for election votes, after doing nothing for the past four years. She also added that the DMK is not allowing people to protest or express their views freely.
Tamilisai pointed out that leaders from within the DMK alliance — including Congress, VCK, and others — are making contradictory statements. For example, Congress leader Selvaperunthagai and DMK Deputy Secretary Siva have openly criticised the alliance. VCK leader Thirumavalavan also said that while his party supports the alliance, it has a separate identity and will not follow the BJP.
She said all this shows there is no unity in the DMK-led alliance.
Her remarks come ahead of the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, where political strategies and alliances are under the spotlight.
