Vedhamurthy, father of Sabareesan and father-in-law of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, passed away at the age of 80.
He had been receiving treatment at a private hospital on Old Mahabalipuram Road in Chennai due to health issues. He died late last night.
His body has been kept at his residence in AGS Colony, Kotivakkam, for relatives and the public to pay their respects. The funeral will be held tomorrow.
