Pudukkottai, Sept 16: Taking a sarcastic dig at TVK leader Vijay, Minister Regupathy said Vijay holds his campaign events on Saturdays and Sundays as these are the days when schools are closed and students will come attend his rally.Regupathy added that Vijay’s visits do not threaten the DMK’s vote bank. He also said that sometimes public property suffers damage during these campaigns. He promised that if any laws—especially TN public property laws—are broken, action will follow.
The minister said that if any person is in danger at a campaign site, ambulances must reach them quickly. He denied that DMK would disperse crowds or create disturbances.
He also recalled that in 2011, actor Vadivelu suddenly came forward to support DMK campaign. There were no banners or advertisements then. But a large crowd turned up—more than anywhere else, Regupathy claimed. He questioned whether that support translated into votes.
