The Supreme Court has declined to entertain a plea by former Tamil Nadu Minister V Senthil Balaji seeking clarification on an earlier order that required him to resign from his ministerial post. The Court had earlier granted him bail in a money laundering case on the condition that he step down as minister. Balaji’s plea sought to clarify whether the order barred him from holding office during the trial.
The Bench, however, noted the bail conditions remain in force and dismissed the plea, warning that any attempt to influence witnesses could lead to revocation of bail. Balaji is under investigation in connection with the cash-for-jobs scam.
