Puducherry, Apr 4:
Senior BJP leader and Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave a major boost to the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) campaign for the April 9 Assembly elections by holding a high-profile roadshow in Puducherry on Friday.
The Prime Minister, accompanied by Chief Minister N. Rangasamy, founder of the All India N.R. Congress, and Home Minister A. Namassivayam, travelled in an open vehicle along a one-kilometre stretch from Ajantha Signal to Raja Theatre junction.
BJP Puducherry president and Raj Bhavan constituency candidate V. P. Ramalingam also took part in the roadshow.
The route witnessed enthusiastic participation from large crowds, including BJP cadres and the general public, who lined the streets, showered flower petals, and raised slogans in support of the Prime Minister.
