Marking his birthday with a fresh announcement, veteran actor Sarath Kumar is set to headline a new film directed by Kamal Prakash, best known for helming Kingston. Tentatively titled Production No 12, the project will be backed by Kavya Film Company, marking their foray into Tamil cinema after producing the Malayalam thriller Rekhachithram.
While details about the film’s cast and storyline remain under wraps, the makers unveiled a striking first-look poster featuring a pack of dogs hunting a rabbit, hinting at an intense narrative. The team has also revealed that the film is based on true events, adding to the intrigue surrounding the project. Producer Venu Kunnappilly is backing the venture.
The screenplay is penned by Kamal Prakash, with additional writing and dialogues by Thamizh Prabha, known for his work in Sarpatta Parambarai and Thangalaan. The technical crew includes music composer Justin Prabhakaran, cinematographer Gokul Benoy, editor Kalai, art director SS Moorthy, and stunt choreographer Stunt Silva.
Sarath Kumar was last seen in the Tamil film Mr X and the Hindi project Daadi Ki Shaadi. With this new collaboration, the actor appears set to explore yet another intense and grounded story, continuing his long-standing presence in diverse cinematic ventures.
