Actor-producer Vishnu Vishal has confirmed that his much-anticipated collaboration with director Arunraja Kamaraj has been shelved, citing creative differences and budgetary concerns. The actor said the decision was reached after both sides made efforts to resolve the issues surrounding the project.

Vishnu Vishal revealed that he had been preparing for the film for nearly 10 months and had planned to begin work after the release of Gatta Kusthi 2. Calling the decision a difficult one, he also said the project’s legal settlement would take some time, while wishing Arunraja Kamaraj well in his future endeavours.

The shelving of the project also highlights the growing challenge of budgets in the Tamil film industry, an issue Vishnu Vishal himself flagged in his statement. For now, the actor is focusing on Irandu Vaanam, directed by Ramkumar and co-starring Mamitha Baiju, besides his production venture Yellow Yellow Dirty Fellow. He also hinted at an “exciting and unique” project that he plans to announce soon.
