Mumbai,  Oct 3:
The Reserve Bank of India’s Monetary Policy Committee will meet from October 5 to 7, with its interest-rate decision due on October 7. The repo rate has remained at 5.25% through the last four reviews.
Expectations of a rate hike have increased amid rising inflation, higher energy prices and tighter global monetary conditions. Retail inflation rose to 4.82% in August, above the RBI’s 4% medium-term target. A Business Standard poll found that eight of 10 economists expected a 25-basis-point increase to 5.5%.
