Washington,  Oct 7:
The US Justice Department has directed its employees to use the term “super intelligence” instead of “artificial intelligence” in most references to the technology, including in court-related work, according to a Reuters report.
The directive follows an order issued by President Donald Trump and reflects the administration’s changing approach to terminology surrounding rapidly developing AI technology.
The move comes as governments and technology companies around the world debate the potential opportunities and risks posed by increasingly powerful AI systems.
The terminology change is likely to attract further attention as the US government develops policies covering AI development, regulation, national security and the use of advanced technology across government agencies.
