Pristina, Oct 7:
Kosovo’s parliament has elected economist Justina Shiroka Pula as the country’s new president, helping the country avoid another snap election.
The election took place shortly before a constitutional deadline, ending a period of political uncertainty surrounding the largely ceremonial presidency.
Pula’s election provides a measure of political stability for the Balkan country, which has faced repeated political tensions and institutional disputes.
The development is being closely watched as Kosovo continues to deal with economic challenges and sensitive relations with Serbia, while seeking greater international recognition and integration with European institutions.
