Madurai, Nov 5:
Tamil Nadu Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) MLA representing Madurai Central, Mustafa, on Wednesday levelled explosive allegations against the AIADMK, accusing the principal opposition party of attempting to orchestrate horse-trading by offering him Rs 15 crore to switch allegiance ahead of a planned no-confidence motion.
Addressing the media at Madurai airport, Mustafa claimed that local AIADMK functionaries had reached out to him over phone calls. “AIADMK members contacted me over the phone and told me to accept Rs 15 crore, saying that the amount could be received when a no-confidence motion is moved,” Mustafa stated. “I immediately lodged a complaint with our party leadership regarding this. Both the AIADMK and DMK are operating together in this effort.”
Affirming the loyalty of ruling legislators, the MLA asserted: “Even if offered Rs 100 crore, TVK MLAs will not switch parties. I have informed the party leadership about this, and in a day or two, who is behind this will come out.” He pointed out that while DMK contested with a 35-party front, TVK formed a direct alliance with the people, securing a historic 34% vote share to form the government.
