Ahmedabad, Nov 6:
Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ), India’s largest private port operator, on Thursday signed a definitive agreement to acquire a 100% equity stake in Netherlands-headquartered Evos B.V. from Igneo Infrastructure Partners in an all-cash deal valued at €1.18 billion (approx Rs 12,511 crore).
The transaction pegs Europe’s second-largest independent liquid-storage operator at an enterprise value of €2.56 billion (Rs 27,142 crore). Evos operates eight specialized terminals with 6.3 million cubic metres of liquid storage capacity situated across strategic industrial and energy gateways in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Spain, and Malta, handling chemicals, conventional petroleum, and green transition fuels such as sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and methanol.
APSEZ noted that the acquisition will be financed through debt, with Japanese lender MUFG providing underwritten funding commitments of up to €2.8 billion. The acquisition expands APSEZ’s international footprint with long-term take-or-pay commercial contracts, aligning with the group’s broader target of handling 1 billion tonnes of global cargo throughput.
