Chennai: Higher Education Minister K Ponmudy has opposed the draft National Higher Education Qualifications Framework (NHEQF) which states that the admission to the first year undergraduate programme will be open to those who have met the entrance requirements. Chennai: The number of persons who tested positive for Covid-19 dipped further to 671 in Tamilnadu on Tuesday. The State reported eight deaths due to the virus. Chennai reported 169 new cases, while Coimbatore’s daily cases went below 100 at 96. A total of 22 districts reported fewer than 10 cases each on Tuesday. The number of samples tested stood at 70,379. This took the total number of samples tested so far to 6,39,61,280. While 2,375 persons were discharged after treatment, the total recoveries so far stands at 33,96,078.
