Chennai: Indian vaccine maker Biological E Ltd’s Covid-19 vaccine Corbevax got emergency use approval in the country for use in children aged 12 to 18. The Hyderabad-based pharmaceutical company said its coronavirus vaccine Corbevax, also India’s third homegrown vaccine, has received emergency use approval in India for use in children aged 12 to 18 years. Till now India has been administering Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin to teens between 15 and 18 years old since January 3. New Delhi: With 13,405 fresh infections, India’s Coronavirus caseload rose to 4,28,51,929 today. According to Union Health Ministry data updated this morning, the country’s Covid-19 death toll climbed to 5,12,344 with 235 new fatalities. The active cases declined to 1,81,075 comprising 0.42 per cent of the total infections, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate has further improved to 98.38 per cent, the Ministry said. The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 4,21,58,510. Chennai: The number of persons who tested positive for Covid-19 dipped further to 788 in Tamilnadu on Monday. The State reported only one death due to the virus. In the past 24 hours, 70,379 people were swabbed, pushing the sample tests total in the state to 6,39,61,280. As many as 2,692 people recovered from the disease, leaving the number of active cases at 14,033. Chennai: Tamilnadu continued to report a fall in fresh cases on Wednesday when it added 3,971 new cases compared to 4519 on Tuesday. The 28 deaths took the toll tally to 37,837. By the end of the day, 16473 people were removed from the registry and the state had 77,607 active cases. Of the 38 districts, 29 reported fewer than 100 cases each.
