The Tamil remake of Hindi film Pink starring ‘thala’ Ajith has been titled Nerkonda Paarvai. The first look poster was released along with the title yesterday and it ditto resembles the poster of the original movie.
Starring Ajith Kumar and Shraddha Srinath, the film is directed by H Vinoth. Nerkonda Paarvai is a courtroom drama in which Ajith reprises the role played by Amitabh Bachchan in Pink, as an old lawyer who represents a woman who was molested by a politician.
The film is bankrolled by Boney Kapoor and it is his first production venture in Tamil. Interestingly, while shooting for English Vinglish’s Tamil version, Ajith had promised Sridevi that he will do a film in Tamil with her husband Boney Kapoor. He will follow this up with another film starring Ajith, say sources.
Talking about his collaboration with Ajith, Boney had said, “It has been a long journey involving both Ajith and me to collaborate for a film, which he took up as a sheer commitment from the time he shared screen space with my wife Sridevi in English Vinglish.”
The film also stars Bollywood queen Vidya Balan, director Adhik Ravichandran, Arjun Chidambaram, Abhirami Venkatachalam, Andrea Tariang, Aswin Rao, and Sujith Shankar. Incidentally, Nerkonda Paarvai will also mark Vidya Balan’s debut in Tamil cinema. The film will have music by Yuvan Shankar Raja and cinematography by Nirav Shah.
