Long before Rajiv’s assassination, the plight of Sri Lankan Tamils and growing Tamil militancy, not always of the same character, have been the focal point of much politicking in TN. No other issue has polarised the parties here and dictated the political agenda as these, whether the arena is the polls, Assembly or just about any platform.
