Chennai: Southern Railway will operate special trains for Onam and Velankanni festivals to handle huge crowd.

According to a press release, Chennai Central-Ernakulam Jn. Suvidha special train (82615) will leave Chennai Central at 10.30 pm on 23 August and reach Ernakulam Jn. at 10.55 am the next day.

Ernakulam Jn to Chennai Central (06014) will leave Ernakulam Jn at 2.45 pm on 24 August and will reach Chennai Central at 4.50 am the next day.

Chennai Central-Kochuveli special train (06047) will leave Chennai Central at 3 pm on 21 August and will reach Kochuveli at 6.45 am the next day.

Kochuveli-Chennai Central special train (06048) will leave Kochuveli at 12.30 pm on 22 and 28 August and will reach Chennai Central at 7.40 am the next day.

Thiruvananthapuram-Velankanni special train (06046) will leave Thiruvananthapuram at 3.30 pm on 29 August and 5 September and will reach Velankanni at 3.45 am the next day.

Ernakulam Jn-Velankanni special train (06016) will leave Ernakulam Jn at 11pm on 28, 31 August and 4 and 7 September, and will reach Velankanni at 1 pm the next day.

Tirunelveli-Mangalore Jn special train (06019) will leave Tirunelveli at 5.55 pm on 23 August and reach Mangalore Jn at 12.30 pm the next day.

Mangalore Jn-Tirunelveli special train (06020) will leave Mangalore Jn at 3.40 pm on 24 August and will reach Tirunelveli at 9.45 am the next day.

Nagercoil Jn-Mangalore Jn special train (06023) will leave Nagercoil Jn at 4.15 pm on 26 August and reach Mangalore Jn at 6.30 am the next day.

Mangalore Jn-Nagercoil Jn special train (06024) will leave Mangalore Jn at 8.30 am on 27 August and will reach Nagercoil Jn at 10.15 pm the next day.

Advanced reservations for the above trains have commenced, the release said.
