Chennai: In a show of strength DMK working president M K Stalin’s estranged brother M K Alagiri will be holding a meeting with his supporters in Madurai tomorrow.
Sources said the meeting has been convened to discuss the arrangements and travel plans for the silent procession to DMK patriarch M Karunanidhi’s samadhi on 5 September .
Alagiri’s staunch supporter and Madurai Corporation former Councillor M L Raja said all supporters from southern districts have been invited to take part in the meeting.
It is said Alagiri is planning to parade atleast one lakh cadres during the procession and has reached out to all those who are not satisfied with Stalin’s leadership. It is said 10,000 people from Madurai alone will take part in the procession.
Recently, Alagiri virtually questioned his brother’s leadership saying true loyalists of his father were on his side and will not keep quiet during the general body meeting to be held on 28 August.
