Chennai: Three cases have been registered under two sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against Christian evangelist Mohan C Lazarus for speaking in a derogatory manner about Hindus Gods and temples.
Recently, a video of his that spoke ill about Hindu Gods and temples went viral on social media. Following this, BJP leader Murugesan filed a complaint against the evangelist in the Karumathampatti and Sulur police stations in Coimbatore.
In a similar fashion, the VHP filed a complaint against Lazarus in Pollachi police station.
Acting on the three complaints, separate cases were filed against the evangelist in the police stations under two different sections of the IPC.
