Coimbatore: Six DMK leaders, including local MLA N Karthik, have moved a court here seeking anticipatory bail in a case filed against them for alleged derogatory remarks against Tamilnadu Chief Minister K Palaniswami.
When the petitions came up for hearing Friday, the Principal District Judge In-Charge M Gunasekaran posted them to 8 October after the public prosecutor sought time.

The cases were registered last week against DMK organising secretary R S Bharathi, MP, the MLA and five others for their alleged provocative speeches and derogatory remarks during a public meeting at Perur here on 26 September.
They have been charged with Indian Penal Code offences including promoting enmity between different groups and statements conducing to public mischief.
Barring Bharathi, the six local DMK leaders approached the court for anticipatory bail.
