O Panneerselvam, Palaniswami and Dhinakaran

Chennai: Fisheries Minister D Jayakumar has stated categorically that expelled AIADMK leader T T V Dhinakaran will not be taken back into the party.

Speaking to reporters at the airport this morning, Jayakumar said Dhinakaran might wish to return to the parent party of AIADMK. “That is because he has no other option. But take it from me, Dhinakaran will not be taken back into the party,” asserted the senior Minister.

A lot political churning took place yesterday with former MLA Thanga Thamizhselvan stating that Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam had sought an appointment to meet Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam founder Dhinakaran with an eye on dislodging Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami.

Though OPS tried to dodge the question by stating that he had not gone through Thamizhselvan’s interview, Dhinakaran called a press meet at his Adyar residence and openly stated that Panneerselvam had met him in July last year and that he had sought an appointment last week also.

It was then the turn of Panneerselvam to call a media conference to declare that he had no intention to unseat Palaniswami and that it was Dhinakaran’s ploy to create problems within the AIADMK.

PONNAR OBSERVATION

When asked to comment on the ongoing war of words between Dhinakaran and Panneerselvam, Union Minister of State for Finance, Pon Radhakrishnan, said he would refrain from saying anything.

According to him, Dhinakaran and Panneerselvam, though from different parties, both actually belong to the AIADMK. So, it is a fight between stakeholders (pangaaligal in Tamil) and so, there was no need for an outside to comment on it.

Ponnar was speaking to reporters at Chennai airport, on way to Delhi.
