Chennai: A four-day old baby was rescued by the city police from Karapakkam Main Road, Porur.
The girl baby was abandoned on the roadside by unknown persons. The police personnel who were on patrolling duty at 11.30 pm last night heard the cries of the baby and rescued her.
The child was rushed to a nearby hospital and given treatment. The police said the baby was just a few days old.
Sources said the baby was sent to Egmore Women’s and Children hospital, and is in good health. A case has been registered by the Valsaravakkam police.
