Chennai: A man and his wife were found dead in their residence at Poonamallee here.
According to police, Venkatesh (26) and Durga (23) were found dead in their house at Thiruveedhi Amman Koil Street.
Venkatesh worked as a daily wager while Durga did domestic work whenever the family needed income. Sources said the family struggled with finances and Venkatesh and Durga quarrelled about it often.
Venkatesh was found hanging from the ceiling of their house while Durga was lying unconscious on the bed. The cause of her death is unknown. There were no external injuries on her body.
The couple has two daughters aged two and three. The police sent the bodies to Government Kilpauk Hospital for post mortem.
