Actor Kamal Haasan, who is known to express his voice on various issues, has cautioned women to use #MeToo movement in a right way.
Speaking to presspersons in Chennai today, the MNM founder said, “It is admirable that women have come forward to speak against sexual harassment.”
Soon after popular playback singer Chinmayee blamed Vairamuthu of allegedly attempting sexual assault on few women, many came forward to post their horrifying experience with celebrities from various walks of lives. And thus began #MeToo in social media. From Bollywood actor Alok Nath to journalist-politician M J Akbar and Vairamuthu none were left.
He said lyricist Vairanuthu should explain on the sexual allegations against him. Kamal Haasan, who recently took to politics floating Makkal Needhi Maiam, wondered how by-elections to two Assembly constituencies are postponed in Tamilnadu citing rain.
To another question on idol wing police seizing statues from a businessman, Kamal Haasan, said, “Such crimes cannot happen without the connivance of those working in every temples. It is sad and deplorable.”
