Chennai: Tanker Foundation is inviting applications for its two awards that will be given to a doctor and young researcher.
According to a press release, the ‘Renny Abraham Tanker Foundation Love for Service Award 2019’ will be given to a doctor, who has gone beyond the call of duty in rendering service to the underprivileged.
The award will carry a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh, a citation, and a gold medal. There is no age limit for the applicant, he/she should be a resident in India and should have taken up community service for a minimum of five years.
The ‘K V George Kottukulam Memorial Tanker Foundation Young Investigator Award 2019’ will be given to young researcher in Nephrology in India. The award will carry a cash prize of Rs 2 lakh, a citation, and a gold medal.
The applicant should be under 45 years, should have contributed to the research work in India and co-investigators consent should be given.
The person nominating will need to send a detailed report of the nominee including name, address, contact number and type of work carried out and why he/she deserves the award – five copies to Tanker Foundation by post and one copy by e-mail for review by the screening committee.
The screening committee will shortlist the applications and forward it to the award selection committee. The last date for nominations is 15 December 2018.
The award winner’s accommodation and travel by train (Second Class A/c) will be reimbursed. The awards will be presented on 25 January 2019 at Tanker’s Awards Nite in Chennai.
