Chennai: Coming down heavily on actor Rajinikanth, DMK’s official organ Murasoli today questioned his political intentions and said he was attempting to cheat his ‘innocent’ fans.
In an article titled ‘Who is the black sheep… Mae …Mae…Mae’ that appeared today, the newspaper questioned whether acting for 40 years in cinema is enough for the superstar to aspire to become the Chief Minister recalling Rajinikanth’s latest statement that serving in his Rasigar Manram for four decades is not enough for his fans to aspire for posts in his party.
It further said, “Rajinikanth wants to become Chief Minister but his fans should work tirelessly for it without expecting anything.”
Murasoli came out with a big spoofy ‘Question & Answer’ kind of article along with a cartoon suggesting that Rajini was the creation of the BJP. It also questioned if Rajinikanth is not keen on Chief Minister post, he could very well float a social service organisation like what E V Periyar did and serve the society in a bigger way.
On Rajinikanth’s remarks that disciplinary action was taken on fans for not following principles of the mandram, it said that no policy or principle was specified and it is still Rajini Makkal Mandram and not a political party. “When such is the case, one wonders what principle was violated.”
On his request to his fans to take care of their family first and then think about entering politics, it said, “If that is the case, why should Rajinikanth, who has a family, should openly declare that he will enter politics and will contest in all 234 Assembly constituencies in the next election. He too can very well go and take care of his family’
“On urging fans not to spend for his mandram and he would not encourage such acts, it questioned why was he quiet when fans spent huge sum from their pockets for over 40 years whenever his films were released to come up with posters and cut-outs and choose to speak only now.
The article also cautioned that men around him including Tamilaruvi Manian would spell doom for his political aspirations.
HOLDS URGENT DISCUSSION
Soon after the article was published in today’s edition of Murasoli, actor Rajinkanth convened a meeting with his supporters at his Raghavendra Kalyana Mandapam at Kodambakkam. They discussed in detail about the issue, sources said. Some crucial decisions were arrived at the meeting.
