Chennai: As directed by the Central Vigilance Commission, New Delhi, the Southern Railway will observe Vigilance Awareness Week till 3 November.
The objective of the Vigilance Awareness Week is to bring about alertness amongst the public and government employees on corruption. The theme for the current year is ‘Eradicate Corruption-Build a New India.’
To create awareness against corruption and malpractices and to bring about systemic improvement through use of technology, the vigilance wing of Southern Railway will organise programmes covering zonal headquarters, divisions, major workshops and field units.
Events such as quiz, skits, presentation of case studies and panel discussions will be organised throughout the week at headquarters and divisional offices of Southern Railway. A special drive will be undertaken against corruption by vigilance officials at railway stations.
