Chennai: Sarkar film director A R Murugadoss is said to have moved the Madras High Court for anticipatory bail.
As protests by the AIADMK have been growing against Vijay’s latest flick Sarkar, there was talk yesterday that the director might be arrested.
Police personnel also moved to his house, though it was later said it was only to provide protection to Murugadoss.
This morning, the director moved the High Court, seeking pre-arrest bail.
According to reports, his petition is likely to be taken up by this afternoon.
After ministers raised their voice about certain scenes in Sarkar, the AIADMK cadres protested in front of theatres. This forced many theatres in the State to cancel their show.
The Tamilnadu Theatre Owners Association also said the film would be screened after necessary cuts.
