Chennai: Public in the Cyclone Gaja-hit districts of Thanajvur, Tiruchi, Nagapattinam, Pudukottai, Cuddalore, Ramanathapuram and Sivaganga will not have to pay fees to have MRI, CT scan done in the government hospitals in these areas.
Making this announcement at Pudukottai, Health and Family Welfare Minister, Dr C Vijaya Baskar, said those who needed to take MRI or CT scan in government hospitals can have it done for free.
The seven districts bore the burnt of the devastating severe cyclonic storm and the government is busy providing relief materials and conducting medical camps as the next major worry is preventing the outbreak of diseases.
As part of its efforts to help the victims of this natural disaster, Minister Vijaya Baskar has ordered the government hospitals to provide MRI and CT scan for free.
