Chennai: Today is the second death anniversary of former chief minister J Jayalalithaa.
The charismatic leader was admitted to Apollo Hospitals 22 September 2016 as she had swooned at her Poes Garden home. She was treated for various ailments in the hospital for 75 days and died there 5 December the same year.
Today being her second death anniversary, Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam will pay their respects at her memorial near that of MGR’s.
Members of the AIADMK will take out a silent march from Anna Salai to the memorial in honour of her memory.
Apart from the AIADMK, members belonging to T T V Dhinakaran’s Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam will also be taking out a procession to the memorial on the marina.
