Chennai: A four-year-old girl who went missing from Kothavalchavadi on 27 December, was found in a shelter-home this morning.

According to the police, two days ago Raju and his wife Selvi, residents of Washermenpet, approached the police to file a missing complaint about their daughter Durga (4).

The vegetable vendors had left the girl at SelviĀ’s motherĀ’s house in Kothavalchavadi on 27 December and the girl went missing from here.

The local police had circulated her photograph to all stations in the city. It was the Central Railway Police who identified the girl and sent her to a shelter-home in the city after she was found with an elderly woman at the station.

“The girl did not know her parents’ name or her address and the aged-women seemed mentally disturbed,” police said. Durga was then united back with her family.
