Napier: In the first One Day International between India and New Zealand at Napier this morning, New Zealand chose to bat first. They were dismissed for 157 thanks to Kuldeep, who picked up four wickets and Chahal getting two.
Shami dismissed both the openers (Guptill and Munro). Ross Taylor made 24, Latham managed just 11 and Nicholls was out for 12. Williamson was the top scorer. He made 64.
Mohammed Shami became the fastest Indian to claim 100 wickets in One-day Internationals today. This was his 56th game in the 50-over format. Shami’ wicket number 100 was New Zealand opener Martin Guptill, who played onto his stumps a delivery that moved in after pitching on a good length.
Kuldeep managed four wickets and Chahal got two.
