Charuhasan’s ‘DhaDha 87’ to release 1 March

DhaDha 87 starring Kamal Haasan’s brother, 88-year-old Charuhasan playing an aging gangster, is all set for release 1 March.

Charu Haasan who is being hailed as ‘Ageing Superstar’ plays a ‘dhillana dhadha’ in this movie. In Hollywood, actors like Clint Eastwood (88) have been cast as lead in films. But it is the first time in Tamil cinema that a 88-year-old has been cast as hero. The makers of the film are being lauded for the novel attempt.

Meanwhile, viral video from DhaDha 87, featuring actor Charuhasan and Keerthi Suresh’s grandmother actress Saroja romancing to the tune of popular song ‘Inji Idupazhagi’ song from the Kamal Haasan starrer Devar Magan is being much talked about in social media. The songs, teaser and trailer of the gangster thriller movie have all been received very well by the fans.

The film is bankrolled by Kalai Cinemas and directed by debutant Vijay Sri G. Yesteryear comedian Janagaraj is also a part of the movie and will be seen playing an important role. Three newcomers Anand Pandi of ‘Kalakka Povathu Yaaru’ fame will be seen along with Jeni Pallavi who has done three Telugu films and Anu Lavanya (who will be playing a rowdy girl from north Chennai).

Raja Pandi will be handling the camera and Leander and Al-Rufian will be composing music for the film while Sudha and Vijay Sri G handles the editing.
