Chief Electoral Officer Satyabrata Sahoo today said 932 nominations for Lok Sabha elections and 305 applications for the 18 Assembly constituencies by-poll have been accepted.
Addressing mediapersons at the Secretariat here today, he said 655 nominations and 213 applications for the Lok Sabha and by-polls were rejected, respectively.
“With 43 nominations Karur had the maximum number of applications accepted and Nilgiris had the minimum with 10. As far as bypolls are concerned, in Perambur 59 applications have been accepted and only eight nominations were
approved for Gudiyatham,” he added.
