Girls top in CBSE Plus-Two results


Chennai: Girls outperformed boys in CBSE Plus-Two exams, to which the results were announced today. The results published on the CBSE official website showed girls scoring 88.7 per cent pass percentage and boys – 79.40 per cent. The total pass per centage stood at 83.4.

The top scorers were Hansika Shukla of Delhi Public School, Meerut Road, Gaziabad and Karishma Arora of NC Public School Muzaffarnagar with 99 per cent.

Across the country, Thiruvananthapuram region topped among districts recording 98.2 per cent. In Chennai region, the pass percentage was 92.93 and in Delhi – 91.87 per cent.

The pass per centage of Kendriya Vidayala was 98.5 and Jawahar Navodya – 93.63.
Around 13 lakh students wrote the Plus-Two exams across the country which got over 4 April. The revaluation process is said to begin tomorrow.

As in the case of 2018, Microsoft has partnered with the board to broadcast the results through their application ‘SMS organiser app’. On completion of pre-registration on the application, the score card will be shared even without Internet connection.

Meanwhile, CBSE today advised students not to come to their office for checking results and suggested to check on their website. “The result will not be available in the Board and the public are advised not to visit Board’s office for collection of results. The process of verification will be displayed on CBSE’s website,” said an official statement.

It may be noted that the pass percentage in 2018 stood at 83.01 and in 2017- 82.02. The board further stated that the class 10 results will be declared 5 May. CBSE has brought in 69 expert volunteers including principals, counsellors and special educators from CBSE-affiliated government and private educational institutions and psychologists for tele-counselling to help students deal with the pressure.
