Chennai: Electricity Minister P Thangamani today said all the overhead electric wires in Chennai will be replaced with
underground cables by 2021 at a cost of Rs 2,567 crore.
He was replying to a question raised by Leader of the Opposition and DMK president M K Stalin, who said several lives are lost due to short circuit during the rain.
“The work to lay underground cables in Kolathur should be completed by the end of this year,” he said.
