Chennai: Dr Sivanthi Club women’s volleyball team won the Chennai District Women Volleyball Championship -2020 by defeating Sports hostel Excellence 14-25, 18-25, 25-13, 25-19 in the final to clinch the ‘Rathna Stores’ Trophy and the gold medal.
According to a release, by virtue of the victory, Dr.Sivanthi Club also won a cash price of Rs. 15,000. Second-placed Sports hostel Excellence won the Cosco trophy, Silver Medal and cash award of Rs 10000.
In the third-place playoff match, SDAT hostel defeated Presidency Volleyball Academy 17-25, 25-19, 25-23 to win bronze medal and cash award of Rs. 7000. Life President, Tamilnadu State Volleyball Association, R.Arjun Durai, presided over the valedictory function of the tournament and Chief Guests were IRS, Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax,
Chennai, P Sankarpandi, Managing Director, Romaa Group, RVMA Rajan, Managing Director, Southern Perforating, Chennai, Narendra Kumar Jain and Chief Marketing Manager, Cosco[India] Ltd, Md.Ubaidur Rahman.
