Chennai: Chief Election Officer of Tamilnadu Satyabrata Sahoo has said people above 80 can opt for postal vote in the State Assembly elections.
He said three per cent voters in Tamilnadu are above 80. He has called for an all party meet on 3 November as election in the State is fast approaching.
The State Election Commission had earmarked 1 January to be the deadline to qualify as a voter (For those who turn 18) and to conduct special summary revision.
To expedite this work Sahoo has said a draft of voters list will be published on November 16 and the voters will have time till 15 December to suggest any correction with special camps dedicated to collecting applications to inform changes in voter details.
The finalised voter list will be published on 20 January.
