Chennai: With the advent of the Tamil month of Karthigai, Sri Ayyappa Thiru Koil, North Chennai, will see around hundreds of devotees for the ‘Maladharana’ ritual on 16 November at the temple premises at No 104, T H Road, Pudhuvannai (near Tondiarpet toll gate).
The temple, as a proactive and pre-requisite precautionary measure, has made all arrangements at the premises during the challenging times of Covid-19 pandemic and made it mandatory for all the devotees to wear masks and maintain social distancing.
The temple has requested devotees not to bring along children under the age of 10 and elderly above the age of 60 years when visiting the temple during Maladharana.
With the daily early morning ‘Usha kala’ poojai beginning at 5:30 am followed by ‘Uccha kala’ poojai during the noon and the Neiabhisheka poojai, complete with the ‘Malar’ poojai with flowers, ‘Athaazha’ poojai and ‘Hariyasanam’ in the night, the devotees can have a divine darshan and spiritual experience all through the day during this mandalam season.
On an everyday basis the temple organises ‘Ganapathy Homam’ revering Lord Ganesha, and milk abhishekam to Lord Guruvaayurappan, and performs ‘Ayalya poojai’ for Lord Nagaraja once every month. In addition, the temple organises ‘Annadhaanam’ twice a week on Thursdays and Saturdays.
