Chennai: A Sub-Inspector of police, attached to the Special Force at the State Secretariat, allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service revolver at his residence at Melkottaiyur in suburban Vandalur.
Police sources said, the cop, Gowtham, who was living with his wife and two sons in the police quarters, was getting ready to leave for duty, when he suddenly went to the bed room and ended his life.
Police are investigating to ascertain whether work pressure or family dispute has forced the Sub-Inspector to take the extreme step. His body was shifted to Chengalpet government hospital for post mortem.
