Chennai: With Covid-19 cases steadily coming down in Tamilnadu, it looks like more relaxations from the existing restrictions are in store for the State. Today, Chief Minister M K Stalin chaired a high level meet at the Secretariat here, where he discussed the pandemic situation with higher officials and healthcare experts.
Based on their inputs and recommendations, a formal announcement is expected to be made by the State government soon.
An announcement about the opening of nursery schools, an expectation long held by the parents, is expected. It is likely that the government will announce further relaxations following the decline of positive cases.
Already, the Tamilnadu State Election Commission (TNSEC) has brought in relaxations on the restrictions imposed during the campaigning for urban local body polls as the number of fresh Covid cases in the State is coming down.
