New Delhi: Top Bharatiya Janata Party met at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence in order to decide on the government formation in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Manipur and Goa.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP chief JP Nadda and senior leader BL Santosh were among those attending the meeting that went on for over three hours.
Earlier, the BJP’s parliamentary board appointed Amit Shah as the central observer for UP and BJP vice-president Raghubar Das as co-observer. Rajnath Singh was appointed the central observer for Uttarakhand and Kiren Rijiju for Manipur.
Sources said that the key agenda of discussion was the next Chief Minister of Uttarakhand where incumbent Pushkar Singh Dhami has lost the polls despite the party winning a two-thirds majority.
The BJP led by CM Yogi Adityanath won a historic victory in Uttar Pradesh, scoring 255 out of 403 constituencies and a 41.29 per cent vote share – the State’s first double term in 37 years.
