Chennai: Continuing to report downward trend in new Covid-19 cases, Tamilnadu has reported its daily infections fall below 50, with 48 people testing positive for the pathogen, pushing the caseload to 34,52,490.
With no causalities, the toll remained at 38,025. As many as 89 patients got discharged, and the cumulative recoveries stood at 34,13, 930.
According to the Health department, eight districtsā Ariyalur, Kallakurichi, Kanniyakumari, Karur, Perambalur, Ramanathapuram, Tiruvarur and Tirunelveliā reported either nil cases or cases in single digit for the last seven days.
Chennai reported 18 fresh infections. Fifteen districts had fewer than 10 cases each, of which, eight logged only a single case each.
Coimbatore saw six cases while Chengalpattu recorded five new infections. As many as 22 districts recorded zero cases. As many as 89 people have recovered in the last 24 hours, aggregating to 34,13,930 leaving 535 active infections.
