Chennai: Tamilnadu Health department reported 32 fresh Covid-19 cases on Friday. Of them, Chennai logged 14 cases, while there were fewer than five cases each in 12 districts.
After Chennai, Tiruvallur reported three new cases, followed by two cases each in Chengalpattu, Coimbatore, Cuddalore and Tuticorin. Kancheepuram, Kanyakumari, Krishnagiri, Madurai, Thanjavur, Tiruvannamalai and Villupuram reported one case each. Twenty-five districts reported no new case on Friday.
There were no Covid-19 deaths. The toll remained at 38,025. A total of 45 persons were discharged after treatment. With this, the total number of recovered persons has gone up to 34,14,539.
Seven districts – Ariyalur, Dharmapuri, Dindigul, Kallakurichi, Mayiladuthurai, Perambalur and Tirupathur – had no active cases of the viral infection for the second day in a row.
