Chief Minister MK Stalin has said that the Supreme Court’s decision to release Rajiv Gandhi’s killer, Perarivalan, was a huge victory for the state.
Stalin said Perarivalan had lost over 30 years in jail. The Supreme court, invoking Article 142, ordered the release of Perarivalan on Wednesday.
Article 142 allows the Supreme Court to pass any order necessary to do complete justice in any case or matter pending before it.
“Now he is going to take a fresh breath of freedom, and I wish him well. This is a huge victory for the state’s rights as well,” said MK Stalin.
