TN govt declares 18 Sept as holiday for Vinayaka Chaturthi

The State government which initially declared 17 September as holiday for Vinayaka Chaturthi has now announced the next as festive day and declared holiday. The decision was taken after recommendation from HR & CE department. It may be recalled that Ilin a press release, Hindu Munnani leader Kadeswara Subramaniam, had said, ‘ Wonder whey the TN govt went ahead and announced 17 September as Vinayaka Chaturthi day in its official calender. We pointed out the mistake in January itself’. We request the government to make the necessary changes now at least to ensure there is no confusion in celebrating Vinayaka Chaturthi, he added.
