Modi to flag off Chennai – Tirunelveli Vande Bharat Express on 24 September


Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the much-awaited Chennai –Tirunelveli Vande Bharat Express Train on September 24, through video-conferencing from New Delhi. This train will cover a distance of 652 km in 7.5 hours with four stoppages at Madurai, Trichy, Dindigul, and Virudhunagar.

Since most of the express trains between Chennai and Tirunelveli run at night, the new Vande Bharat Express will provide a daytime travel experience to commuters. Accordingly, Chennai Egmore – Tirunelveli Vande Bharat Express will start from Tirunelveli at 6 a.m. and reach Chennai Egmore at 1.50 p.m.  The same train will leave Chennai Egmore by 2.50 p.m. and go to Tirunelveli around 11 p.m. It will take around 8 hours to complete the journey and the train will all days excluding Tuesday.
