Annamalai flays Nitish for his remarks about women

Tamil Nadu BJP President K Annamalai has strongly criticised Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for making what he described as “cringe-worthy” remarks about women during a recent debate on caste census in the state Assembly. The controversial comments have sparked outrage and calls for an unconditional apology.
During the debate in the Assembly, Nitish Kumar made a statement suggesting that women should be educated as it would enable them to avoid sexual intercourse from resulting in pregnancy. This remark has been met with widespread condemnation, with many considering it offensive and insensitive.
In response to Nitish Kumar’s comments, Annamalai, the Tamil Nadu BJP President, expressed his strong disapproval. He stated, “We condemn it. It is very unfortunate that a senior leader like Nitish Kumar has spoken about our mothers and sisters in a way that is very obscene, and we can totally call it cringe-worthy.” Annamalai also highlighted that Nitish Kumar, after joining the INDI alliance, appeared to be using language similar to that of the DMK party, known for its often combative rhetoric.
Annamalai continued, “The DMK party generally uses the same language. After Nitish Kumar’s statement, our mothers and sisters are feeling offended and outraged. I apologize and will not do any good for the damage he caused yesterday in the Bihar Assembly.”
The controversial remarks made by the Bihar Chief Minister have not only drawn the ire of the BJP but have also caught the attention of the National Commission for Women (NCW), which has called for Nitish Kumar to issue an unconditional apology.
